Job Summary:
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all food service areas. This includes performing closing duties, setting up workstations, and ensuring all equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use. The Steward plays a key role in supporting kitchen and service teams by maintaining standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout the property.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete end-of-day closing tasks, such as storing reusable goods, cleaning equipment, locking refrigerators, restocking items, and securing doors.
  • Set up and maintain work areas with necessary supplies, ensuring they are fully stocked and organized for service.
  • Inspect and ensure the cleanliness and presentation of china, glassware, and silverware before use.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout all work areas by following clean-as-you-go procedures and adhering to daily cleaning checklists.
  • Ensure all equipment is returned to its designated storage location after use.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures, including reporting accidents and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Assist with maintaining and protecting company assets, ensuring uniform and personal appearance adhere to company standards.
  • Support team members by fostering positive relationships and ensuring adherence to quality and performance expectations.
  • Perform additional tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds without assistance and navigate uneven or slippery surfaces.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with team members and guests.
  • No related work or supervisory experience required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
