Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry to join our dynamic culinary team at Crowne Plaza Dubai Marina. In this role, you will assist in the daily food preparation and ensure the highest standards of pastry and bakery production, contributing to our reputation for exceptional desserts and baked goods.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and workflow.
  • Prepare and present pastry and bakery items according to menu specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work area in compliance with hotel standards and health regulations.
  • Control food stock, manage food costs, and minimize waste in the pastry section.
  • Prepare daily mise-en-place and execute food production tasks efficiently.
  • Follow directions from superiors to complete daily tasks and special requests.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items and stay informed about new products and techniques.
  • Instruct and guide junior staff in food preparation and presentation during service.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to meet requirements for cleanliness, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Participate in the setup of buffets and special events, ensuring high standards are maintained.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a four or five-star hotel or a comparable establishment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency in relevant kitchen software and systems is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for pastry and bakery arts, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
