Job Summary:

Ensure the efficient preparation and presentation of dessert items while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. You will be responsible for adhering to HACCP policies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring consistency in food production for various dining services within the hotel. Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to meet operational goals and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to HACCP policies and ensure food safety standards are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations and equipment.
  • Communicate hazardous situations and notify supervisors of potential risks.
  • Prepare daily dessert production for Banquet/Buffet/Club Lounge/Afternoon Tea/Festive menus.
  • Ensure consistency in the preparation and presentation of all dessert items following hotel recipes and standards.
  • Uphold hotel brand standards in all food preparation and service.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Participate in all kitchen briefings, meetings, and scheduled training sessions.
  • Assist in inventory management and the ordering of pastry supplies.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements for dessert offerings.
  • Communicate courteously with guests and internal customers to resolve any food-related inquiries.

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma or vocational certificate in Culinary Skills or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume kitchens, ideally in full-service restaurants or hotels.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in oral and written English.
  • Valid Food Hygiene/Food Handler certification as required by local regulations.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain consistency in food preparation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for culinary creativity and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
