Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will excel in managing kitchen operations, leading a team, and ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes, particularly with expertise in Asian cuisine. This role requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide direction to Cooks, Kitchen Attendants, and Stewards.
  • Oversee food preparation and ensure the timely availability of ingredients, equipment, and materials needed for service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Implement hotel and department regulations, including Standard Operations Procedures, HACCP, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Foster strong working relationships with colleagues and ensure effective communication with supervisors regarding guest feedback, internal issues, or operational challenges.
  • Participate in daily briefings, training sessions, and meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.
  • Develop new menu items, ensuring food is prepared and served to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage special projects and ensure all tasks are carried out in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Proactively address potential hazards and log security incidents or accidents as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a luxury restaurant or 5-star hotel environment, with a focus on Asian cuisine.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead and manage a large team of kitchen staff.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills and a passion for culinary innovation.
  • Quality Focus: Committed to delivering food of the highest quality, with a focus on both taste and presentation.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with health and safety protocols, first aid, and emergency procedures in a kitchen environment.
