Job Summary:
The Commis Chef will be responsible for delivering a consistent, high-quality food product while maintaining a courteous, professional, and efficient service. The role supports the kitchen’s daily operations and ensures adherence to Hyatt International standards and hygiene protocols.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Support the kitchen team in daily operations, including food prep, station setup, and restocking.
  • Assist in menu planning by contributing creative ideas and culinary knowledge.
  • Monitor food storage and inventory to ensure freshness and avoid waste.
  • Handle kitchen equipment responsibly, ensuring proper maintenance and usage.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout all stages of food preparation.

 

Requirements:

  • Basic culinary skills with a focus on Asian cuisine.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.

 

Level of Education:
Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Hours:
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in Months:
Minimum 12 months as Commis Chef or 24 months as Apprentice Chef in a hotel or restaurant.
