Job Summary:
A Commis 3 in the Team Member Restaurant assists in preparing and cooking basic meals for staff while maintaining hygiene, organization, and safety in the kitchen. This role involves supporting senior chefs, following food safety standards, and contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and portioning ingredients such as vegetables and proteins.
  • Cook simple dishes like soups, salads, and sandwiches under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and workstations.
  • Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations in all kitchen operations.
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
  • Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to senior chefs.
  • Ensure correct labeling and storage of perishable items.
  • Support senior chefs in the preparation of more complex dishes.
  • Help with setting up workstations and preparing mise en place before service.
  • Attend kitchen meetings and training sessions, showing initiative for learning new skills.
  • Assist in minimizing food wastage and managing stock rotation.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.

 

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
  • Strong communication skills for teamwork and coordination with other departments.
  • Attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift kitchen equipment or supplies.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a staff cafeteria or team member restaurant.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.

 

Work Hours:

  • Full-time, flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays, especially during major events.

 

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 6 months of kitchen experience, preferably in a staff dining environment.
