Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis 2 - F&B Culinary for Jumeirah Al Naseem. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, ensuring high-quality dishes and maintaining kitchen standards in line with Jumeirah's luxury service excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, measure, and mix ingredients for meal preparation, including sauces and seasonings.
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables, fruits, and meats as required.
- Prepare salads, sauces, and other dishes with attention to detail and presentation.
- Stock food items properly in refrigerators and freezers and monitor inventory levels.
- Notify supervisors of low stock situations and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
- Follow recipes for portion size, quantity, and quality as directed by the culinary team.
- Assist in food plating and ensure presentation aligns with luxury dining standards.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and maintain all food storage areas to established standards.
- Participate in daily kitchen briefings and attend meetings as requested by senior chefs.
- Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors and ensure follow-up maintenance is completed.
- Comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP and internal standards.
- Support the kitchen team in achieving common goals and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a high-end restaurant or 5-star hotel kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and fine dining presentation.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under pressure.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Level of Education:
- Culinary diploma or equivalent certification from a recognized institution preferred.
Work Hours:
- Full-time with flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum 24 months of culinary experience in a luxury hospitality setting.
