Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Commercial for One&Only One Za’abeel. This leadership role will focus on driving revenue across multiple streams, including rooms, food and beverage, and events, while fostering strategic partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction to our sales and marketing efforts and ensure alignment with our luxury service standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team to achieve commercial KPIs such as TRevPAR, RevPAR, occupancy, and average rate targets.
  • Create and implement the annual Strategic Business Plan, focusing on revenue objectives and action plans.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Revenue to establish a comprehensive commercial strategy, considering direct channels, segmentation, and distribution.
  • Work closely with the Hotel Manager and Director of F&B to drive ancillary revenues.
  • Manage the departmental budget and monitor expenses to optimize financial performance.
  • Generate weekly sales reports to identify business trends and formulate segment action plans.
  • Participate in revenue meetings and monthly business reviews, delivering insights to stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to gather intelligence on competitive positioning and trading environments.
  • Manage relationships with wholesale, corporate, group, and MICE accounts to influence business growth.
  • Oversee key partnerships with consortia programs such as American Express FHR, Signature, and Virtuoso.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with Regional Sales Offices, ensuring effective communication of business needs.
  • Align commercial activities with seasonal and global brand campaigns, driving property-level engagement.
  • Set departmental customer service standards and operational procedures to enhance guest experiences.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the hotel, upholding company standards in personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all commercial activities align with Kerzner’s brand standards and company policies.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by senior management as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in luxury or ultra-luxury hospitality.
  • At least three years of experience as a Commercial Head, Director of Sales & Marketing, or Director of Sales in a luxury property.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, decision-making, and team leadership.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with sales management tools (Salesforce) and property management systems (OPERA) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and develop actionable insights.

 

Level of Education:
Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.

Work Hours:
Full-time, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.

Experience in Months:
Minimum of 84 months in a luxury hospitality setting.
