Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Sales Manager to drive total revenue across Rooms, Events, and Food & Beverage (F&B) departments. The ideal candidate will focus on developing new and existing accounts, particularly targeting Non-Residential producing accounts and catering businesses within the cluster.
Responsibilities:
- Drive total revenue across Rooms, Events, and F&B by actively selling to new, existing, and prospective accounts.
- Support the hotel’s financial goals through upselling and effective use of hotel products and packages while controlling costs.
- Foster an atmosphere of open and efficient communication among team members and departments.
- Ensure accuracy in all communication documents, including Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), change logs, and updates.
- Attend internal meetings, including morning briefings and BEO/GIS meetings, to stay aligned with hotel operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with Event Operations and other internal stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
- Exhibit a positive attitude at all times and actively participate in hotel activities and initiatives.
- Utilize IHG sales tools efficiently to streamline work processes and enhance transparency.
- Take a proactive sales approach, adapting strategies and solutions to meet client needs and expectations.
- Conduct regular competitor analysis, documenting promotions, pricing, availability, test calls, and conference boards.
- Share market intelligence and customer feedback within the organization to ensure alignment and coordination of sales efforts.
- Assist in the preparation and launch of new products and services.
- Familiarize yourself with all hotel services/features and local attractions to provide accurate responses to guest inquiries.
- Monitor industry trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly to maintain competitiveness.
- Train and mentor junior sales staff to enhance team performance and development.
- Manage customer feedback effectively and develop strategies to improve guest satisfaction and retention.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel or the MICE industry, with exposure to F&B operations.
- A diploma from a university or hotel school, preferably in Sales & Marketing, Tourism, or Hotel Management.
- A strong passion for results, enthusiasm, and a commitment to quality service.
- Self-motivated and organized, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills across various platforms, including presentations, telephone, written correspondence, and face-to-face interactions.
- Ability to develop and nurture beneficial relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, demonstrating a high level of common sense.
- Culturally adaptable, with experience working in diverse environments.
- Proficiency in Delphi and Opera systems is an advantage.
- Ability to anticipate guests' needs and respond proactively to enhance their experience.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as needed.
- Strong analytical skills to assess sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
