Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Manager for our Health Club at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, enhancing guest experiences, and driving revenue through membership and personal training sales.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Health Club, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction in line with Jumeirah standards.
  • Manage the fitness team to drive personal training revenue and maintain high levels of customer service for all guests and members.
  • Develop and implement a scheduling plan for gym floor activities, ensuring all programs are executed on time.
  • Lead and motivate the sales executive to achieve monthly and yearly membership sales targets.
  • Create and oversee activities and initiatives to generate leads by networking with local members and maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Ensure timely reporting of maintenance issues and track resolutions to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote new memberships and retain existing members through innovative campaigns.
  • Manage inventories, stock control, and purchasing systems to ensure optimal supply levels.
  • Design and implement promotional offers and activities to attract new members and enhance revenue generation.
  • Monitor costs and recommend measures to control them in accordance with annual budgets.
  • Manage cash floats, ensuring all payouts and expense claims are justified and processed accurately.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budget, profit, and loss statements, providing insights to the Director of Health Club.
  • Review and manage the commission scheme associated with health club staff, ensuring timely submission to finance.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to prepare regular budget reports and forecasts for management review.
  • Innovate and develop new fitness classes and programs that align with Jumeirah’s brand values and enhance member engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to continuously enhance service and operational efficiency.

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate from a reputable university or college in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in the Health and Fitness industry, preferably in a 5-star hospitality or commercial environment.
  • Proven experience in spa, fitness, and pool management, with a strong focus on customer service across diverse demographics, including individuals with special needs.
  • Familiarity with Perfect Gym Software and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with guests, members, and staff.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and implement improvements for enhanced service delivery.
  • Passion for health and fitness with a proactive approach to maintaining industry standards and best practices.

 

Level of Education:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field from a recognized institution.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Experience in Months:

  • 60+ months (5+ years) of management experience in the Health and Fitness sector.
