Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff. The Maintenance Technician will collaborate with various departments to maintain high service standards while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on hotel facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general repairs.
- Address maintenance requests from guests and staff promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain proper documentation of all repair and maintenance activities.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining hotel functions and events, ensuring equipment is in working order.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and facilities, providing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Collaborate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to address any facility-related concerns.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with guests during maintenance activities.
- Stay up to date on building maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance-related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance or facilities management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Proficient in electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Certification in maintenance or related fields (e.g., EPA, OSHA) is an asset.
- Familiarity with hotel operations and guest services is a plus.
