Job Summary:
The Chef de Partie - Bakery is responsible for overseeing bakery staff and ensuring the preparation of high-quality bakery items, adhering to food safety standards and company policies. This role also involves assisting with food cost control and contributing to an exceptional guest experience at Conrad Dubai.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the preparation and baking of high-quality breads, pastries, and desserts.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets the required standards and follows recipes accurately.
  • Manage the bakery section, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
  • Organize and prepare mise en place for all bakery items and menus.
  • Monitor the quality of ingredients and proper storage to maintain freshness.
  • Assist with managing food costs and contributing to departmental financial targets.
  • Address guest queries and special requests related to bakery products in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow company standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations, including preventing cross-contamination.
  • Report any maintenance, hygiene, or hazard issues to the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen departments to support smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assist in introducing new bakery products and developing seasonal or themed menus.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and minimize food wastage.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie in Bakery or equivalent experience in a Demi Chef de Partie role.
  • Expertise in baking and pastry techniques with a strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Strong supervisory and coaching skills to lead and develop a team.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced kitchen.

 

Level of Education:

  • NVQ Level 3 in culinary arts or equivalent certification in commercial cookery.

 

Work Hours:

  • Full-time, flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and shifts as required by the kitchen operations.

 

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 24 months of relevant bakery experience.
