Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Captain for our All Day Dining restaurant, Sofra BLD at Shangri-La, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will lead service operations, ensuring a seamless dining experience that upholds the exceptional standards of Shangri-La.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service for all guests.
  • Lead and supervise the service team to deliver high-quality guest experiences, maintaining consistency in service standards.
  • Assist in menu planning, ensuring coordination with the culinary team to deliver themed nights, breakfast buffets, and special events.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Train and develop staff in service techniques, product knowledge, and hospitality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including Stewarding, Events, and Kitchen, to ensure smooth communication and operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment for both guests and staff.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of promotions to enhance guest engagement and drive revenue.
  • Ensure all areas of the restaurant are properly set up and prepared for service, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills, with a focus on exceeding guest expectations.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, including buffets and themed dining events.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and quality.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards, including HACCP and advanced food hygiene practices.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or food service training is preferred.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position with flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum 36 months of experience in luxury hospitality, with a focus on All Day Dining or buffet operations
