Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager – MICE to join our Sales & Marketing team at Shangri-La Qaryat al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UAE market, proven ability to develop strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth through meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to grow the MICE segment and achieve revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, direct bookers, and agency partners in the local and regional markets.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and establish long-term partnerships with corporate clients, event organizers, and travel agencies.
- Oversee all aspects of event planning, from initial inquiry to execution, ensuring client satisfaction and successful delivery of events.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create customized proposals and presentations, reflecting brand standards and tailored to client needs.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Ensure that MICE-related products and services exceed guest expectations, enhancing customer loyalty and brand reputation.
- Manage budgets and revenue forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall hotel financial goals.
- Provide training and support to the events team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Attend networking events, exhibitions, and trade shows to promote the hotel and generate new leads.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in business development or sales & marketing, particularly in the MICE segment within luxury hospitality.
- Strong understanding of the UAE market, with a focus on corporate and event-driven business.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to develop creative strategies to drive revenue and increase market share.
- Proficient in OPMS (Opera Property Management System) and other sales and event management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of regional market trends and competitive landscape.
Level of Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
Work Hours:
- Full-time position, with flexibility to attend events and client meetings outside regular working hours.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum of 60 months of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within luxury hospitality, with a focus on MICE.
