Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager – MICE to join our Sales & Marketing team at Shangri-La Qaryat al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UAE market, proven ability to develop strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth through meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to grow the MICE segment and achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, direct bookers, and agency partners in the local and regional markets.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and establish long-term partnerships with corporate clients, event organizers, and travel agencies.
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning, from initial inquiry to execution, ensuring client satisfaction and successful delivery of events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create customized proposals and presentations, reflecting brand standards and tailored to client needs.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Ensure that MICE-related products and services exceed guest expectations, enhancing customer loyalty and brand reputation.
  • Manage budgets and revenue forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall hotel financial goals.
  • Provide training and support to the events team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Attend networking events, exhibitions, and trade shows to promote the hotel and generate new leads.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in business development or sales & marketing, particularly in the MICE segment within luxury hospitality.
  • Strong understanding of the UAE market, with a focus on corporate and event-driven business.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop creative strategies to drive revenue and increase market share.
  • Proficient in OPMS (Opera Property Management System) and other sales and event management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of regional market trends and competitive landscape.

 

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position, with flexibility to attend events and client meetings outside regular working hours.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 60 months of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within luxury hospitality, with a focus on MICE.
