Job Summary:
The Hotel Internship Program offers hands-on experience in various aspects of hotel operations, allowing interns to gain valuable insights and practical knowledge about the hospitality industry. This program is designed to immerse interns in the day-to-day functions of a hotel, providing a foundation for a successful career in hotel management and hospitality. Participants will learn about Marriott's business practices, culture, and industry standards, preparing them for future opportunities post-graduation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hotel operations across multiple departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services.
  • Support management with daily tasks, such as guest check-in/check-out processes, room assignments, and resolving guest inquiries.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions to understand operational strategies and business objectives.
  • Help coordinate and execute special events, banquets, and group reservations.
  • Contribute to inventory management and ordering processes for guest supplies, room amenities, and food and beverage stock.
  • Ensure hotel standards and brand expectations are met in all guest interactions and service delivery.
  • Shadow senior managers to understand decision-making processes and leadership styles.
  • Provide feedback on guest experiences and suggest improvements to enhance service quality.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote hotel services and packages to guests.
  • Assist in analyzing guest satisfaction data and implementing strategies to improve the overall guest experience.
  • Participate in health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a current student enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in hospitality, business, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to the overall success of the hotel operations.
  • A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is an advantage but not required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and hotel management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet departmental goals.
