Job Summary:
The Head Hostess at Nobu is responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations in the restaurant, ensuring guests are welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The role involves managing reservations, seating arrangements, and coordinating with the restaurant staff to provide a seamless dining experience. The Head Hostess ensures all guests have an exceptional experience from arrival to departure.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a courteous, efficient, and welcoming manner.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with the restaurant management and kitchen team to monitor table turnover and optimize seating efficiency.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Supervise and train hostess team members, ensuring adherence to service standards and restaurant policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including the host stand, menus, and entrance.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to guests regarding menu items and dining options.
- Assist in developing and implementing guest service protocols, focusing on exceptional hospitality.
- Collaborate with the management team to improve guest service strategies and increase customer retention.
- Monitor dining room ambience, ensuring tables are set properly and the environment meets Nobu standards.
- Manage special occasions and VIP guests with a personalized and attentive approach.
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed, including reporting on daily guest counts and feedback.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a hostess or in a similar customer-facing role in a fine dining or luxury restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and deliver high-quality service.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize during peak service hours.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, with the ability to handle high-profile and VIP guests.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation systems and POS systems is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Level of Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management is preferred.
Work Hours:
Full-time, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per restaurant operations.
Experience in Months:
Minimum 36 months (3 years) of experience in a similar role within a luxury or high-end dining establishment.
