I offer a broad 12-year extensive clinical experience of working as a clinical psychiatrist, along with an additional 7 years experience as a consultant psychiatrist, equipped with skills of supervision, teaching and management of various multi-component, collaborative mental health projects and programs within Institute of Psychiatry, a WHO Mental Health Collaborating Center, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

I am currently working as a consultant psychiatrist, clinical supervisor, teacher and psychiatric trainer in a psychiatric unit of a tertiary care hospital in Pakistan. Additionally, in my private clinical capacity I also provide mental health services in substance use disorders and perinatal maternal & infertility hospital in the city. I have a rich experience of working in general adult, substance use, geriatric, liaison and women’s mental health and wellbeing. Moreover, I have Substance use service development experience. I have extensive research skill, have supervised clinical teams as project lead and have a rich familiarity and understanding of service development coupled with an abundance of administrative experience.

Additionally, I have extensive experience of working in clinical and community mental health programs with in the country. I am currently working on collaborative initiative with the WHO, Ministry of National Health Services and provincial health departments in the implementation of WHO mental health gap action program (mhGAP) in 4 pilot districts across the country.

I am also the lead research administrator, project manager and supervisor for a research team of Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning for managing and overseeing various clinical research project, mainly involving randomized control trials of culturally adapted psychosocial interventions and novel pharmacological interventions for mood disorders and psychosis.
