Re: Application for the Position of Teacher

In response to your advertisement for the position of teacher in your institution, I hereby submit my résumé for your consideration and review. I have been a trained teacher for the past nineteen (19) years. I have garnered a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience and as such, I consider myself a suitable candidate for the position.

Over the last year, I have been employed to Future International Nursery in Dubai UAE in the capacity of an English Language lead teacher. This experience has tremendously enhanced my skills, knowledge and experiences and has equipped me to embrace different cultures and new rudiments to teaching. Prior to this, I was employed to Jessie Ripoll Primary School for a period of five years, notably during this tenure I was awarded and recognised for achieving a 95% pass rate for the GSAT- Grade Six Achievement Test and for preparing the students for National Quiz and Reading Competitions.

My experience in teaching on an international scale, coupled with the valuable experience garnered while working in Jamaica have contributed to me being a more rounded and experienced teacher. I am an assiduous worker, who possess high team-spirit and good work ethics. I am always willing to face a challenge and I am willing to learn. I believe I will be able to offer much to the institution as I recognize the need to extend myself beyond my classroom and to develop holistic students.

I possess a Diploma in Primary Education from St Joseph’s Teachers’ College, conferred in 2000 and I am currently pursuing a Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services CACHE LEVEL 5. Given my professional experience, training and qualification, I am confident that I can successfully execute the functions of a teacher at your organization.
