Job Summary:

The Commis Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality food in accordance with the outlet's concept and Hyatt International standards. This role focuses on delivering consistent, efficient, and professional service, particularly in Arabic cuisine, while ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining kitchen hygiene.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present high-quality Arabic dishes in line with the restaurant's standards.
  • Assist in the daily food preparation and cooking in assigned sections of the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with senior chefs to develop new recipes and improve existing dishes.
  • Ensure that food is prepared and presented in a timely manner, adhering to quality control.
  • Follow kitchen processes, recipes, and standards to ensure consistent food quality.
  • Assist in managing inventory and food stock, ensuring proper storage and handling of ingredients.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive working environment within the kitchen team.
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with any additional tasks as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Basic culinary skills with a focus on Arabic cuisine.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

 

Level of Education:

  • Culinary diploma or equivalent training preferred.

Work Hours:

  • Flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 12 months of experience as a Commis Chef or 24 months as an Apprentice, ideally in a hotel or restaurant specializing in Arabic cuisine.
