Job Summary:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes in line with brand standards and guest expectations. This role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene and safety protocols, and optimizing kitchen efficiency while delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The Head Chef will lead menu development, food production, and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistent quality across all dishes.
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and current trends.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring all team members perform to the highest standards.
- Monitor stock levels, oversee inventory management, and coordinate with suppliers for optimal purchasing.
- Collaborate with restaurant management and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
- Ensure kitchen operations remain within budget while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
- Handle guest feedback regarding food quality and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
- Implement Hyatt’s corporate strategies and brand standards to enhance guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to multitask and work in a high-pressure environment.
- Expertise in food hygiene, kitchen safety protocols, and compliance with local regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Level of Education:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred.
Work Hours:
- Full-time, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum 24 months in a Head Chef or senior kitchen management role, preferably in a luxury boutique hotel setting.
