Job Summary:
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service in the assigned area, ensuring guests receive a courteous, professional, and efficient experience. The role involves working closely with the restaurant team to meet guest expectations and enhance their overall dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Service Excellence:
- Greet and seat guests, presenting menus and offering recommendations on food and beverages.
- Take and deliver orders promptly, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide personalized service, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring their dining experience is seamless.
- Food & Beverage Knowledge:
- Stay informed about the menu, including specials, beverages, and dietary restrictions.
- Answer guest inquiries about the menu and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Communicate any guest dietary requirements to the kitchen promptly.
- Operational Support:
- Assist with table setting, clearing, and resetting for upcoming services.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area and overall restaurant space.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Upselling and Promotion:
- Suggest additional menu items, beverages, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.
- Assist in promoting special events, menus, or offers within the restaurant.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe dining environment for guests and colleagues.
- Customer Feedback & Issue Resolution:
- Address guest concerns or complaints swiftly and courteously, escalating issues when necessary.
- Collect guest feedback to continuously improve service standards and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with a passion for providing excellent service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage operations, including safety and hygiene standards.
Level of Education:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management preferred.
Work Hours:
- Flexible, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum of 24 months in a similar role within hotel or restaurant operations.
