Job Summary:

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service in the assigned area, ensuring guests receive a courteous, professional, and efficient experience. The role involves working closely with the restaurant team to meet guest expectations and enhance their overall dining experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Service Excellence:
    • Greet and seat guests, presenting menus and offering recommendations on food and beverages.
    • Take and deliver orders promptly, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Provide personalized service, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring their dining experience is seamless.
  • Food & Beverage Knowledge:
    • Stay informed about the menu, including specials, beverages, and dietary restrictions.
    • Answer guest inquiries about the menu and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
    • Communicate any guest dietary requirements to the kitchen promptly.
  • Operational Support:
    • Assist with table setting, clearing, and resetting for upcoming services.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area and overall restaurant space.
    • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
  • Upselling and Promotion:
    • Suggest additional menu items, beverages, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.
    • Assist in promoting special events, menus, or offers within the restaurant.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
    • Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe dining environment for guests and colleagues.
  • Customer Feedback & Issue Resolution:
    • Address guest concerns or complaints swiftly and courteously, escalating issues when necessary.
    • Collect guest feedback to continuously improve service standards and guest satisfaction.

 

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for providing excellent service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of food and beverage operations, including safety and hygiene standards.

 

Level of Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management preferred.

Work Hours:

  • Flexible, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 24 months in a similar role within hotel or restaurant operations.
