Job Summary:
The Lobby Lounge Manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, management, and overall performance of the Lobby Lounge. This role requires ensuring exceptional guest service, high operational standards, and motivating the team to maintain Shangri-La’s renowned quality and service excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Lobby Lounge, ensuring smooth service flow and a positive guest experience.
- Implement and monitor service standards, ensuring all staff follow established protocols through training, supervision, and quality control.
- Schedule and rotate staff to ensure full coverage and optimize productivity.
- Lead, train, and develop the team to enhance service efficiency and staff confidence.
- Address guest complaints promptly and take immediate corrective action to resolve any issues.
- Greet and seat guests courteously without delay, ensuring that tables are properly set and clean.
- Ensure guests are served promptly and their satisfaction is continuously monitored through direct interaction.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness, tidiness, and organization within the Lobby Lounge.
- Collaborate with the Chef to maintain quality control over food preparation and presentation while managing cost controls.
- Coordinate with the Chief Steward and bar service teams to ensure all back-of-house services are running efficiently.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked lounge with necessary supplies, ensuring no disruptions in service.
- Actively monitor guest feedback to identify areas of improvement and implement enhancements to service and ambiance.
- Uphold staff grooming and uniform standards to reflect the hotel’s luxury image.
- Maximize guest satisfaction by continually seeking ways to improve the overall operation of the Lobby Lounge.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 24 months of experience in a managerial role within food and beverage, preferably in luxury hospitality.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in other languages is an advantage.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain high service standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle guest complaints professionally.
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and back-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
- Proactive approach to managing operations, guest relations, and staff development.
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, with a warm and approachable demeanor.
- Familiarity with inventory management, cost control, and budget monitoring for food and beverage outlets.
Level of Education:
Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field; additional certifications in food and beverage management are an advantage.
Work Hours:
Full-time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
Experience in Months:
24+ months of relevant managerial experience in food and beverage service.
