Job Summary:
The Service Leader – Public Area Supervisor at Shangri-La Dubai is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas. This role ensures that all housekeeping activities are conducted to the highest standards, providing an exceptional guest experience while adhering to hotel policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate housekeeping operations in guest rooms and public areas, ensuring all areas are clean and well-maintained.
- Assist in managing and training housekeeping staff to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
- Inspect rooms and public spaces to ensure they meet hotel quality standards before guest check-ins.
- Anticipate guest preferences and ensure personalized service is provided based on their needs.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to address any issues with facilities or equipment.
- Implement and monitor cleaning schedules to ensure timely completion of housekeeping tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all housekeeping activities.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping, resolving them promptly and professionally.
- Assist in managing housekeeping budgets, focusing on cost control and resource optimization.
- Foster a positive work environment, motivating staff and promoting teamwork to achieve operational goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 months of experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning protocols, and room maintenance standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented with a guest-centric approach to service delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
- A proactive problem solver with a can-do attitude and the ability to handle challenges effectively.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to housekeeping operations.
Level of Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality management or housekeeping is a plus.
Work Hours:
Full-time, including weekends, holidays, and occasional late shifts as required.
Experience in Months:
18+ months of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
