Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Order Taker for our In-Room Dining service at Shangri-La Qaryat al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering a premium dining experience to our guests, ensuring that their requests are handled with the utmost care and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Take and process guest orders accurately and efficiently, honoring all special requests.
- Maintain excellent communication with guests and colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of the menu, beverage offerings, and wine selections to provide recommendations.
- Enter orders accurately into the Micros POS system and confirm details with the guest.
- Maintain high standards of telephone etiquette and conduct courtesy call backs to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Upsell menu items and special promotions to enhance guest experience and increase revenue.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the In-Room Dining area and equipment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance product knowledge and service skills.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with fluency in English and Arabic preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in luxury hospitality or customer service, particularly in in-room dining or food service.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell and enhance guest experience through knowledge and enthusiasm.
- A warm, friendly demeanor with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems, preferably Micros.
Level of Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training or certifications are a plus.
Work Hours:
- Full-time position with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality.
