Controllership in Finance & Accounts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi branches of National Life and
General Insurance Co. SAOG, a listed company headquartered in Oman and Inayah TPA
(designated as Finance Manager - UAE, placed at Dubai), since April 2017
a. Financial Reporting as per IFRS and co-ordination with external parties: SPOC for
Government Authorities viz. Insurance Authority, Health Authority, Dubai Statistics Center,
Department of Economic Development, Statutory & Internal Auditors (Big 4s) and Actuaries,
relating to any financial information of UAE business
b. Banking and treasury: Partnering with banking channels for faster and effective method of
claim settlements and investments; Co-ordination with Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange and Dubai
Financial Markets for dividends on equity / debt investments and maturities;
c. MIS Reporting, business plan and budgets: Responsible for monthly MIS, co-ordination
with Sales and Operations team for annual business plans and budgets, report on variance
analysis with budget data, cash flows, fund position reports and branch position papers
d. Accounts receivable and Accounts payable management: Responsible for collection of
premium dues including transitional VAT, AR provisioning, co-ordination with recovery
consultants & legal firms for defaulted dues and initiation of legal cases; Responsible for
Accounts payable – Operational, CAPEX and payroll; Compliance with accounting procedures
manual, financial authorities manual and banking mandate; Responsible for broker account,
third party admin, re-insurer and inter-company reconciliations;
e. VAT compliance: Leading VAT compliance at UAE level with Federal Tax Authority and in
customization of system in accordance to Federal Decree Law
f. Contract review, pricing and negotiation
Team: Leading a team size of fifteen people including five direct reports across UAE and
responsible for their recruitments, retention and performance appraisals
