Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Head of the marine department involving and responsible for the operating the marine fleet units operating inside UAE & GGC area. Along with the Hire vessels and barges with safe marine practice, comply with Company and Client Policy Procedures and Rules, according with all the local and international laws and regulation.
2. Follow up all the preparation and the mobilization of any marine units until to assigning operation site.
3. Monitor day to day the ship’s operation along with site manager for smooth activities at sea and port without delays and accident.
4. Participate along with procurements department for the hiring for any marine units.
5. Ensure all kind of certificates on board vessels is valid. And
6. Dealing and approaching to all the marine authority inside the GCC in any issue related to marine operation in order to accelerate the obtaining of any required documents
7. Marketing the company fleet to various clients /charter.
8. Developing the offshore services throughout the Evaluate and review, involve in the new clients’/charter contracts.
9. Ensure vessels are meeting reporting requirements and proper documentation as per ISM, ISPS, and Safety Meeting reports to achieve client’s satisfaction with no delays.
10. Carry out the Internal Audits as per HSE plan.
11. Providing Briefing of Shipboard operation to Senior Officers prior to joining vessels with regards to Safety Prepare audit reports.
12. Non conformity, and follow-up the corrective actions through the marine work shop department.
13. Participates in all marine incident and accident investigation, either for injury occurrence for any seafarers on board and prepare final report address to all company department or any on marine vessels/barges and prepare in incident investigation reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence; follow-up the corrective actions.
14. A member of the shore Emergency Response Team for the vessels.
15. Inspects marine fleet & charter units’ vessels in schedule time in order to be sure the seaworthy condition and arrange for proper activities to correct any deficiencies.
16. Establishing the working relationship with the existing clients with regular basis and ensure that high level of service standards is being maintained.
17. Involve in commercial issue related to barge chartering, rock transportation and Review the approved the demurrage &dispatch amounts.
18. Review along with marine team all invoices received from Agency, chartering, running operation, clients, port Authority, Steven-rock, associated class.
19. Review and approve the close out plan for any punch list received from ADMA & ADGAS (ADNOC) or any new client.
The following project was done under my supervision during my service with Archirodon.
1. Al Faw new port at Iraq phase number one.
2. Inspect and approve the selected barges and tugs from the local market and GCC area in order to deliver 5milion tons of aggregates with different size and categories to the site location, also supervise all marine operation and loading activity from UAE to the site in Iraq.
3. SARB –Zirku island (ADMA-OPCO)
4. Supervise all the assigned marine equipment’s during the mobilization period Tugs/crane barges/rock barges +crew in order to comply with ADMA Marine and HSE standard and get the final approval.
