Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to apply for the Sports Coach role at Wellington International School due to the deep interest I possess for sports, development opportunities and to see children grow within sport. I believe this role will help me progress the particular area in sport I want to whilst aiding my progression and experiences overall. The opportunity to work in a growing school alongside expert guidance will provide invaluable experience. I believe with my experience I could add great value to Wellington International School moving forward.

I found a desire for sports coaching after my degree in Sports Development and Coaching completed in May 2022.  Here I studied modules such as PE and youth sport, applied coaching practice, pathways to performance and issues in sport and physical activity which allowed me to experience how to become a successful coach and get the most out of the participants that I am coaching.

Throughout my time at university I have been on placements in schools which has given me vital experience and therefore skills for example leadership, coaching independently, improving skills of the children that are key for becoming a sports coach.

I believe preparation is key to for an excellent coaching session therefore I am experienced in using the following Excel, Microsoft word, Power Point as well as Microsoft Outlook and experience in these skills has been strengthened throughout university.

I possess excellent skills in communication, presenting and motivating which can be demonstrated during my degree and my time on placement.

My personality would be a real asset to this role. I know that I have a great rapport with people and am able to create strong relationships that are long lasting. I have great energy and enthusiasm and resilience for work and this would allow me to complete the job effectively whilst motivating others. This can be demonstrated during my time working in schools as a teaching assistant.

I am extremely passionate about a career in sports coaching and believe that now is the right time progress my experiences further. I am certain this position with Wellington International School would really satisfy my passion for coaching as well as aiding my progression. I know my character, skills and experience will more than complement the fast pace of the role.
