Monika Nyitrai-Manhercz
German teacherMy name is Monika Nyitrai-Manhercz. I was born in Budapest, Hungary on 17th February 1978. I began my German studies in the Austrian School in Budapest, Hungary where I founded my German language knowledge. My family is German nationality therefore the love for the German language and culture was already present in my family as a family tradition.
I began my university studies in 1997 at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest at the Faculty of Humanities. My major was German Language and Literature. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2005, and after two years of continued studies I graduated at the same university with a Master of Arts Degree.
I got in close contact with the teacher’s career when I started my PhD in pedagogy at the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary. During the six semesters spent there I became richer with a lot of new information in teaching and learning. It was a profound experience for me. I find creativity and freedom in the education of children very important. Within my teaching philosophy I embrace a child-centered approach. I think that children need to develop according to their own abilities and at their own pace.
I was employed at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, Faculty of Humanities in different positions for more than 10 years. Most of this time period I spent in the Doctoral and Science Office where I was in constant touch with university teachers and students alike. My duties included the organization of post-graduate education. Thus, having spent more than 10 years in higher education in Hungary I have managed to gain considerable experience regarding problem solving and communication with teachers and students.
Due to my linguistic education, my command of the German language is excellent. Due to this fact I occasionally worked as an examiner and education organizer at ITK Origo State Accredited Language Exam Centre in Budapest.
