RELATED PROJECTS
• Hybrid PV/PVT Solar Concentration System with Nonmechanical Solar Tracking (2018): Worked on nonmechanical solar tracking by varying the electric field across a liquid crystal to direct sunrays perpendicular to the surface of the PV throughout the day. Used water as coolant behind the PV to reduce the overall PV temperature and provide hot water as an added output.
• Participated in a project involving a three-phase 60 Hz transmission line rated continuously to transfer 500MVA from Riyadh to Jubail (2017): estimating the proper route for the transmission line, with the correct number of towers and outdoor insulators needed. Included the appropriate calculation of the cable length considering the line sag.
• Controlled the speed of a DC motor using step down DC-DC converter (2017): simulating a closed loop
speed control system which can sense the motor speed and regulate it at the desired reference level by
controlling the motor armature voltage.
SEMINARS ATTENDED
• Automation & Electrical protection relays conducted by SCHNEIDER to display integrated systems and
protection relays (SEPAM 80 series).
• GE Intelligent Platform focusing on industrial software, control systems, and embedded computing
platforms that help connect, monitor, analyze, predict, and optimize operations. The presentation
covered extensively GE Grid Solutions which portrayed comprehensive electrical protection coordination
system using GE MULTILIN relays.
• ARC FLASH measurement, mitigation and protections in accordance to IEEE std 1584 Conducted by ABB.
