Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very interested in your job position. I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree in Criminology in Cambridge, England. My course requires a large amount of essay writing which has perfected my skills in English. I am from Great Britain; however, I am currently also applying for dual nationality in Germany, in order for me to be an EU Citizen. I am fluent in German and English, and I also have a basic conversational level of French. I live in Germany out of term time, and therefore use my German very often and always try to improve my level of speaking and understanding.

I have work experience in hospitality, where I worked as a waitress and bar tender at The Snug. In this job I was given many responsibilities including; sorting out the money we made each evening and counting it up in the morning to ensure everything was as it should be, opening and closing the pub, and ensuring my customers where always happy. If there was a problem, I would contact my boss immediately and try to sort out any issues. During this job, I also had to read through cover letters and CV’s to see who would be right for a job working at The Snug. We organized events, including recruitment stands at my university in order to obtain more employees. I always wanted to ensure that the place I worked earned as much money as possible, and that we hit any targets we had so we could get the best results possible and keep getting more customers by advertising different events, such as quiz nights, to the best of my ability.

I have excellent communication skills after having worked as a bartender and waitress, as well as a chambermaid. This is a very important skill within the fields I have worked in. If there was a problem within my work environment, it was always important to stay calm, be confident and communicate with the customer or other employees to resolve the issue as fast as possible. I enjoy working in a team, and having been a shift leader at The Snug, I also had to manage my own team and ensure that the pub was running smoothly and effectively to ensure the best outcome for my customers.

I am extremely creative and love drawing in my free time. I also make dresses and am currently working on a wedding dress of my own design for someone. I am very eager to learn new things, I am motivated and very organized. I enjoy working with people in a team, however I can also work well alone. I am always looking to improve my work and myself and welcome any criticism in order for me to progress.
