Observe and interpret the contract design documents given by the client or architect
Make sure all materials used and work performed is as per the specifications and standards
Responsible for daily management of the site ie supervise and monitor the site labor force and the works of any sub-contractors
Generate site reports and fill other documents
Coordinate with quantity surveyors on the ordering and negotiating the price of materials
Oversee the contracted staff
Make sure the projects meet the agreed specifications, budgets or timescales
Examine technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
Settle any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may come up
Supervise building work and manage subcontractors
Assist in conducting surveys
Serve as a technical adviser at the site for sub-contractors, craftspeople and operatives
Inspect plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
Supervise the selection and requisition of materials, agree on a price making cost effective solutions and proposals for the intended project
